Milliard Kauffman enlisted in the Marines in 1942 for WW2. He wanted to fight the Nazis! He was Jewish. He served on Guadalcanal, landed at Guam with the 1st Marine Brigade . He got wounded a couple of times and did not want to press for a Purple Heart because his buddies got killed and wounded next to him. Milliard contracted malaria and dengue fever. He was an Honorary member of USMCCCA. He co-wrote Bad Day at Black Rock and created Mr. Magoo.
